SuccessSo, it’s a New Year and I bet that you have that one New Year’s Resolution that you are absolutely determined to stick to and see through to the end. Well, statistics show that only 8% of people ever actually achieve their New Years Resolution and I think I know why.

Human Nature dictates that if we absolutely must do something and we can’t afford not to do it, then it will get done. However, if we have a choice as to whether we do something or not, that is when the failure rate starts to climb. It’s a simple strategy, if we HAVE to do something, we will, if we have a choice not to, then most people WON’T.

So, when setting your goals you must be clear as to why you are doing it and more importantly, apply some pressure and consequence if you do not do them. With losing weight statistically being the number one New Years Resolution, what is the consequence if you do not go the gym tomorrow? What pressure are you applying to yourself that makes you HAVE to go to the gym as oppose to CHOOSE whether you go or not.

Goal attainment in business, personal life or just everyday living all comes down to emotion, human behaviour and routine. If you add a consequence for not taking action then you will be more inclined to take the action and the more action you take, the more momentum you create.

Momentum = More Action and more action means more results. Simple.
